Well okay then.

Like I've ALWAYS said: As long as they are paying for it, I'm okay with it. I guess we won't dither about the measley $20 million or so coming out of the federal coffers (a small percentage of which DOES come out of my pocket FWIW).

But the whole financing scheme does beg an obvious question - If two thirds of the local population do in fact support the local tax increases to pay for this intellectually superior mode of transportation, wouldn't that suggest that it'd be easier to just to ask for private subscribers to sign on to their financial commitment and thus cut out the beauracratic middle man? Direct subscription > property/sales taxes .... Econ 101 .... all that ....
