Believe what you will. I have two manufacturing businesses in CA, both of which are thriving, and both of which I chose to base in the state rather than TX or SC or whereever. Hard working, talented folks are who I employ, and the businesses are doing very well, thank you. Some of them come from families who were not born here, and have a brilliant work ethic. We make much of our own electricity, and we recycle a fair amount of water.
Much to the chagrin of some, California is not going away. And the state will adapt and innovate to deal with the water problem.

I am willing to bet that most of you have not done picking and such; I have, and it is very very hard and taxing work, and I am willing to bet that most of you have no idea how hard working the people that you *hate* as immigrants are. Almost *all* of the non-immigrant folks that I worked with as a picker washed out because the work was too hard and didn't pay enough - within days.
The world is a lot more complicated than it is in your head.
