Yes, No, and Maybe......
A thin interview, with lots of typical hyperbole, with few bits of truth and a few bits of fiction.....
These often folks mean well, but then proceed to use some of the same affected "belief" based logic to support their position, as the CO2 global warming deniers use to justify their scientifically dubious "belief" system. What all of these folks have in common is a belief system which requires one to systematically reject all evidence, regardless of its veracity, that does not support one's pre determined "belief" on this issue.
Transportation related CO2 emissions worldwide are only around 21%, including about 20% of that from aviation, while about 60%+ of all CO2 emissions come just from coal powered electric generation. So just maybe, if we were really trying to reduce CO2 emissions, we should be replacing school air conditioner compressors over 20 years old, than funding HSR with our greenhouse gas fees, since this could reduce about a 100 times more CO2 than the "bullet train ever will, and save school districts hundreds of millions in electric bills, over the life of that investment...
Nah! As long we "believe" hard enough, we don't need no stupid science.....do we?
