Here’s Watsonville Junction in it’s twilight as a Southern Pacific terminal in 1995. The Monterey Local is coming back to town after it’s adventures on the Monterey Branch. During this year I recall the Monterey Local, and the Santa Clara Turn (aka rock job) were the two trains based here. The Santa Cruz Local would terminate here as well, but was based at Salinas at the time. Union Pacific has chosen to consolidiate the Salinas into Watsonville Junction as five locals are based there today.
