I flew an F-9 trainer out of Yuma on one very hot afternoon. Take off charts warned "it can't be done! you fool" but the other pilot had a hot date in Monterey so we rolled anyway. We barely got airborne after 13000ft of runway and escaped ground effect after flying over the Gulf of California some (loooong) time thereafter. Never do that again!
