NWP is not profitable. Why do you think CFNR got out of it in the 90's. NWP has to pay $50,000 to SMART per month for trackage rights to operate. NWP is dying a slow painful prolong death because foamers operate it trains and don't help anywhere else. Dedicated hard workers like Tom, Vic, and Elvis (yes real name, nice guy) are not paid for what they do. Over 60 miles of track to maintain with 3 people. The train crews don't help except for that. Manager studer does some diesel work but that's it. There is no money in this line. It will be toast like SCMB. Maybe real business people can do something with it. A politician and a consulting group in Palo Alto sure can't.
