The line could be rebuilt to Redwood Valley and make a go of it with the existing mills. Willits Redwood has no plans to use rail and the cost to rebuild Redwood Valley to Willits does not justify the traffic base. Cars could just as easily be transloaded at Redwood Valley.
I don't know the rates but it would probably be cheaper and faster for most mills north of Willits to transload at Redding.They would get direct service to Roseville. NWP -Cal Nor- UP to Roseville would take longer and probably cost more involving three lines.
