ARES would not meet the current requirements, that is true. But, that was nearly 30 years ago and almost twenty years before the current mandate. Today, we have very robust technological capacity to be able to do PTC.
But, I'm glad to see that so many of you are apparently still out there still playing 8 track cassettes, using DOS, printing out letters using Peachtree, recording your videos on tape, and talking to each other on land lines........ While on the RR you still need to use kerosene lanterns.......no need to change to electric lanterns, all those batteries, you'd need, right? No need to replace a ball on a string to confer authority, with those stupid CTC signals, either, right?
We really shouldn't do anything too difficult, challenging, or complicated anymore, it's just too difficult, and it wouldn't be perfect, and something could still go wrong, and it might cost money, and, and, and....
And, of course, God forbid, that we try something too hard and fail at it, that would just ruin our entitled right to an unearned sense of self esteem.....
Is this just more proof we took the lead out of gasoline, way too late?
