I got to many of the SART BOD meetings, and this is a matter public record and is part of prior meetings. Simply put, SMART is short extra DMU's and can't hire enough Engineers and Conductors because no on can afford to live anywhere in the Bay Area with the wages they are paying. Software Engineers or coding start at $125,000 and can't afford Silicon valley and the $84,500 for starting engineers at SMART will not qualify you for a $500,000 home in the North Bay.
