My WABCo source once told me this was a modification using an aluminum bushing and/or operating piston, which didn't last long.
The Knorr EAB is JUNK. It can't maintain any given pressure to within the tolerances required by an ABDX valve. As I said earlier, the only reason for this new stuff is patent royalties.
If you have the patience, and more importantly THE MONEY, WABCo will make anything for you that they have made in the past. When I visited Wilmerding several years ago, there was a brand new S-1 straight air valve being shipped out to an (overseas) customer.
