I agree that the Daily Show is actually an interesting way of gathering information. It is a little slow to report, as the jokesters are usually scrambling to make funny of the current issues. And who cares if it's wrong on a show like that? If there was something mis-informed "reported" from it, it also becomes part of the joke. Amazing that Comedy Central thought their fellow Americans should have a refreshing take on news.

Mind you, Canada has been doing this for years on the CBC (Canadian Govt. run network) in forms of the Air Farce, This Hour Has 22 Minutes and, more recently, The Rick Mercer Report. If you like Jon Stewart, try Rick Mercer on YouTube. I think the CBC, because it's affiliation to the government's budget, gets special treatment with politicians.

Imagine the equivalet of Jon Stewart going to Lowes with George Bush. Trust me, that kind of stuff happens up here..... (YouTube: rick mercer canadian tire)
