Judy and others, I NEVER said that and EIR was either not required or would not be done for the Eel River Division or any other part of the railroad. In FACT, as you know the south end EIR is due in November and some preliminary studies have been on going up North. As far as the comment about the STB, once service starts, STB has the jurisdiction. As for SMART, if think it will pass because voters know this is it and if they don't pass it now it will not come up again in the very near future until the super majority is changed. And finally, you and Mike Arnold will have to find something else to talk about after election day. Even if I lose, its not a big deal, life goes on, however both of you have a lot to lose especially you as a politician ending up on the losing side of a controversial issue. As I said before, even if SMART loses, I believe NCRA will get into the passenger business, funded by public monies. And while it will start out slowly, quoting Mayor Gavin Newsom, "Its gonna Happen". And vote No on 8!
