Bruce, I hope your photo would be considered should someone do a book on inland Washington lines someday (hint, hint). McCall (MILW/SP&S Xing) certainly is an obscure spot. I hiked to it (.55 mile from McCall road) and was marveling at the odd beauty of the place and the quietness of two major mainlines now silenced. It was after being there for awhile that I remembered I'd been there before. On trains of both the Milw and the BN. What is the current status of the MIlW and SP&S trail system in Washington? It seems both projects are on hold beyond what has been done already. Any other rails-to-trails plans in the works in Eastern WA? Much of the ex GN has been plowed under and I'd hate to see the other grades vanish also.
Was a book ever published on the GN lines south and east of Spokane? I seem to recall something like that.
