Thank you for sharing some REAL, personal insight, and I am sorry for the pain you must now be feeling.
I find it very interesting that when you have actually KNOWN and cared about someone who has been involved in such an "incident", as you and I have, you tend to be less quick to pontificate and expound truisms about "fault" and the usefulness -- or uselessness -- of fences and gates.
Saying "Just stay off the tracks!" is like "Just say No!" in the drug "war". It just isn't enough. Can't we come up with something more effective, more life-giving?
The point is, living persons, who had family who loved them, are now dead.
Can't we treat those who have died, and their families, REGARDLESS OF "FAULT", with some degree of COMPASSION and RESPECT?
