The bottom line is this: Money was allocated and given to the NCRA for the repair work needed to make the line viable for railroad operations once again. Promises made in the past need to be kept about the start-up timeline. Pushing it forward now does do any of the remaining online customers any good. The NCRA knew that it had to produce a EIR and it knew that once the repairs were completed, the FRA had to come in & do their assessment and inspection.
I and probably many others are sick & tired of the ever constant excuses as to why this railroad that is so viable to those ROW businesses, can't stick to their words spoken and promises made.
It's either put up or shut up time, folks !!!!!!!
There will never be the "right" amount of money needed for this railroad. There are many other section of other railroads whose lines are marginal at best as far as structurally sound is concerned, but yet they may it work.
Why is it that the NCRA feels that this line has to be that perfect ? The FRA may be the authority that governs a line's viability. but if the NCRA told them that the line was ready for inspection, why then is it not ?
Quit making promises if they can't be kept !!!!!!
Get the damn RR line up & working to serve those online customers and quit whining about "this or that". Get the gawd damn FRA inspection done and start running a railroad. It that simple.
