Did Mongo hear his name mentioned? :)
I'd like to point out a few things, just for clarification:
1) David has been directly asked about the status of this board. He has consistently remained silent. This is his right, as he can do whatever he darn well pleases. However, I just felt the need to note that the question has been raised many times, and it has fallen upon deaf ears, for whatever reason.
2) The idea of a "tip jar" was also brought up several months ago. Many of us, myself included, said that we would love to donate to keep things running. It was mentioned again and again and again. And just to note, this idea also fell upon deaf ears. David did not respond AT ALL to the suggestions of people donating to help out.
Because of the two items mentioned above, David either has some type of "master secret plan" on keeping the board going, or, he's just plain old burnt-out, tired, and wants nothing to do with it. He may have a plan----after all, "new rules" came out, what, a week or two ago? Why post new rules for something that is going to die anyway? You can read into this whatever you choose.
And for the knuckleheads out there who don't know who I am (it doesn't really matter), I have been a loyal Altamont Press customer for YEARS. I've purchased countless timetables both directly through the website, and through places where I see them in stores (such as the Sacramento Railroad Museum, the Kelso Depot gift shop, and other foamer hangouts. I'm not a troll.....I've paid my dues.
And I still think that those of us who were kicked off of TO still need a good place to come to.....thus, my interest in purchasing the website. But if it's not for sale, so be it.
