Here's another of the MacMillan Bloedell engines at the Diamond, #1055. The photo is by my good friend Jack Anderson, taken in 1969.

I think I have a photo of the Shay on display at Ladysmith, I'll see if I can't find it.

The "The Humdirgun" is an interesting name for the gizmo! There was a somewhat similar unit at Olympia Washington, which the guys refered to as a "gillacahike". Like you, no idea about proper spelling. I wonder what other names they went by?
