IIRC, the Lima built Pacifics (2476 and 2477) were regulars on the Los Altos Branch, and yes backed up from Los Gatos to San Jose.

The Del Monte Pacifics (2454, 2456, 2458) had a short tender so they could fit on the Pacific Grove turntable. I think 2476 would be too big to head down here, unless they backed it up to the Ord balloon track for turning.
