Hi Everyone,

Great discussion. I am resident of Marina and see the tracks and the Balloon Spur everyday. The tracks have been paved over at either end of Fort Ord Dunes State Park for walking and biking access to Beach Range Road. There have been recent proposals for a Light Rail project to use the same tracks and run between Castroville and Monterey...but I won't hold my breath. Sam Reeves...Great photo! Do you have anymore photos of the final 1999 run?
