The RR police COULD make it into a major PR coup if they did it right - issue a cheery warning ticket and explain how dangerous it is in a friendly, informative fashion, but most of the UP cops are badge heavy and nasty (of course, watching stupidity over and over again...) They (UPRR) jumped all over me a couple months back because I was taking pictures (at a station, imagine that - not even trespassing) and demanded the film and etc., I replied something about the First Amendment and refused, suggesting they call the Local police and they were very upset (partly because I was literate and told them off without having to resort to vulgarities). They finally went away but watched me like a hawk from a distance for another two hours (as if they had nothing else to do). Strangely, it wasn't one of their depots, it now belongs to Metrolink and I HAD asked permission from the attendant who "didn't care"(Glendale, CA).
