For 2-3 years in the early 90s, a couple of Metrolink train sets were brought to Oakland for a demonstration commuter service to coincide with "Beat the Backup Week." Generally, they ran between Oakland and Suisun, but one year (1993, I think) they also ran to/from Brentwood. Unfortunately, they ran at a time of year when the hours they traversed the Mococo Line were in darkness.
