Every form of transportion in our country is subsidized through our tax dollars. Every road/highway gets either city,county, state, or federal subsidies. All commercial airports are subsidized by tax dollars. Shipping/barges are subsisdized by tax dollars. Amtrak and transit are subsidized by tax dollars. I have never understood why Republicans always want to eliminate subsidizing any kind of public rail transportation. Yet you never hear a word about all the other modes of transportation from them. Can someone explain their total disdain for passenger rail.
