It appears from reports that some of these folks did attempt to get off of the truck and did save themselvesby jumping.

It also appears that this may have been a group which included a number of older veterans and their wives-WWII, Korea, Viet Nam, and some may have been disabled or partially disabled. At any rate, if that was the case, then none of us in that age demographic are able to move like we once did.

It is a terrible tragedy, and if their was a failure to follow the law and/or common sense by any of the parties responsible, as has been reported and/or rumored, then it is an even worse tragedy.

I feel real bad for the crew, this is a terrible thing to experience.
