The Westside Express Service (WES) commuter rail operation in the Portland suburbs uses a similar "gantlet" system at its three intermediate stations -- Hall/Nimbus, Tigard and Tualatin. The WES DMUs/RDCs use the inside part of the gantlet to be alongside the high-level platforms, while Portland & Western freights uses the outside part to safely clear them.
