Yup. There are a number of photos in Phil Serpico's "Jawbone" book of the Lone Pine at Lone Pine with a single SD39. Kind of ironic, considering how heavy these units were - heavier than SD45s.

The helper pools worked out of West Colton and Bakersfield.
