My mother and I rode it frequently from San Jose to San Francisco to go shopping. IIRC, we left San Jose at 9 am and arrived in SF at 10. Coming home, we left at 4 and got into San Jose at 5.
The timing of the run from Monterey to San Francisco had to do with "bankers hours" as many of the riders had their vacation homes in Monterey and worked in SF.
