When I was a kid, my parents and really the parents of all my friends, were damned afraid that people would call us commies for shooting off our mouths all the time. Well, we continued to spout off, still do, and Joe McCarthy is dead and gone.

I have a problem with BART, as did a lot of the older railfans who resented BART trying to re-invent the wheel and failing. If there ever were an outfit that hated trains it was BART. They called their piece of dreck "supported duorail". They were ashamed they had built a botched iteration of the NYC subway. Not because they botched the job but because they could not deliver the vactube promised in 1962.

I particularly hate BART's trying to poach Muni main routes and in truth trying to destroy Muni. Geary belongs to Muni.

And if you insist on blowing billions on another BART, make it standard gauge and driverless. To hell with Amalgamated.
