while not a fan of broad guage transit, Muni and 250A could have gotten a subway out Geary if they had tried. Instead they settled for the Third Street streetcar which sadly for commuters actually using it is slower to downtown than the previous buses. It is a game of patronage and money--actually serving the needs of the public is dead last--nothing new here.
