St. Clair is on the BNSF Seattle Sub main line between Lacey and Nisqually.

The tracks in Yelm on which you saw the parked grain hoppers are most likely the former Milwaukee Road line that ran from Tacoma south to Centralia. After MILW retrenched from the Pacific Northwest, this line went through a series of owners, most currently Tacoma Rail.
