Au contraire, there are lots and lots of people who live in Salinas, in Gonzales, in Soledad who drive up to Santa Clara county to work. Check the Park and Ride lot in Prunedale and you will be amazed. Many take a bus to Gilroy and then catch the train etc. If anything is feasible and realistic, extending the commute line to Salinas makes sense. However, the hours of operation may be a problem with very early departures and late arrivals which may make for crewing problems as well.
