Was we on the the North Coast are about to lose another manufacturer, due to high transportation costs(Amulet Manufacturing). They have never shipped by rail, that I know of.

Every route in here, is payed by public money by some degree or another. Except for the port, there is no perfect route, that won't be affected by slides, etc. There is no route that will pay for itself. In effect it seems, more money has to come from outside, to keep things going, no matter the route.

The same engineering problems that 101 has, the railroad has. 101 has the benefit of new solutions, the railroad hasn't.

Seems to have two camps on here and else where re the NWP. One actively posting the good news related to the railroad. The other actively posting the bad, and some having to always post negative comments about the good news. Some it seems get a bit of glee on doing so.

Me I'm tired of the negatively, but I highly understand it. They are not good about PR about what all they are doing on getting it working again. For being a public agency, this stinks, for at the very least, it gives the impression, nothing is happening, and nothing ever will. One PR tool they have is their website, but it moves like pond water, as far as updates go.

If you can't help out fine, not everyone can. I can't help out as much as I want. I'm trying to help the Samoa Roundhouse and get the tourist train running by the summer of 2008.
