Union Pacific sinks to a new low

Today after the closeout of my previous pay period. I checked to see if the company paid my guarentee correctly. Only because they seem to mess up almost every pay period with their math.
In my last pay period I was laid off "os" for a critical incident while going to Bakersfield. The railroad paid me three basic days and then turned around and penalized me roughly seven hundred dollars in guarentee. Because "I was laid off company business and off the board".
How is this my fault? I didn't wish or hope for this person to try and cross in front of us. But yet I'm being penalized for it. It is mandatory time off issued by the company. How is any different than being laid off for IE: rules class, safety meetings, or any other mandatory company business. Next time I'll try and swerve to avoid hitting someone
Time keeping never ceases to amaze me.
