Vancouver Wharves was a really good environment for those two Shays and I'm not
speaking of the weather. I feel that they are well suited to switching, but don't
do quite as well as other models as a road engine due to lower gearing which has been
recently covered on this forum. I have switched a bit with one of these and they are
quick. RAR fabbed a power reverse on at least one of them account of so much back or
forth all day.
BTW, the other PC Shay at the Wharves, the 115, was a Hillcrest engine for awhile in
her career. I think she ended up at Fort Steele.
