The Amtrak coach passenger was not only drunk and obnoxious, but he was groping women. Guess what? Groping women and being obnoxious is not part of diabetic shock. The other passengers in the car complained about his behavior, and should not have been required to endure it. The qualified train crew set him out at Williams Junction, and delayed their passenger train until police arrived. Anyone considering the other paying passengers here? Paying passengers who expect to be safe and protected from some of lowlifes who unfortunately come with coach tickets? It was when the police showed up, that the lowlife fled into the woods, jumping over a barbed wire fence in his haste to flee from the police.
The fact remains that is was not the Amtrak crew's concern to have to chase after a 65 year old obnoxious drunk, regardless of his medical disability. He was well enough to run from police, jump a barbed wire fence, and evade the police for four days. Maybe some police officers are having a lapse in memory, regarding these events, and likely furnished initial statements to the press, regarding Williams Junction as being a poor place to kick an unruly person off the train. Diabetics know that they should not be drinking alcohol anyway.
Where was the caring family of this diabetic, who had too much to drink? Why did the caring family allow him to travel unsupervised, if his condition was so tenuous? Does that same caring family know about how he might act out when drunk? How much did he cost the taxpayers of Williams, AZ and Coconino County? Will the caring
family be paying for it? Why must Amtrak pander to the bus crowd?
It is entirely possible, to get him out of town, he was put back onto Amtrak, for another try. I do not know if Williams, AZ has scheduled bus service. Hopefully he got to ride in a bus with bars on the windows, with "Coconino County" painted on the side of it.
