My Mom found out that he lived near us back when I was in the USAF. She had recalled a comment that I'd made about some of his images in his Backwoods book and asked Stein if she could purchase a couple for me. He visited the house and my Mom told me later what a great gentleman he was. Years after when I met him, I found that out to be true, as did all of us I'd wager.
