Romney Pleges to Kill Amtrak

In a recent interview with a Missouri TV station Romney pleged to elmininate all subsidies to Amtrak as a way to reduce the deficit. This would essentially be a dagger to the heart of Amtrak. Even if elected I doubt he could pull it off. Even Reagan tried to kill Amtrak and he couldn't pull it off along with every other Republican president. There seem to be a lot of slow learners out there. I just wonder how far right Romney will go to pander to the Republican base?
