Even the fearless brave Engineer Casey Jones could not stop his train short of collision.
It appears that since the birth of two trains on the same track the human equation has allowed them to collide.
Why not strive to adopt a system of train control by eliminating the human interlock between an electrical device(Signal) and a mechanical device (brake valve)? Lionel Lines accomplished this by eliminating all humans from their trains.
