Kind of ironic since, I believe, traffic is down substantially over this line, especially by UP.

When Espee was de-emphasizing the Overland Route, they were sending more transcontinental traffic via Tehachapi and El Paso to get more line-haul revenue. It's a different ball game now. There's a new emphasis to route traffic via Donner Pass and FRC. I don't think the "I-5 Corridor" has diverted as much traffic off the highways as they had hoped. BNSF is using Tehachapi more than UP right now.
