Dear Mr. Workman - Having read your posts here, I must salute your operational experience, but in the same vein as the phrase that war is too important to leave solely to generals, I must respond that crass innuendos and name-calling do not an argument make and ranting doesn't disguise the fact that "rational" objectors to ,say, the Pacific Railroad Act of 1862 said much the same, and the financing aspect of said enterprise relied on the theft of other people's lands on an industrial scale and machinations that are illegal today, and rightly so.
I'm not deflecting any apt critcism CAHSR, for anything this size will have "...warts and all",
which should be pointed out, like Oliver Cromwell's portrait, but wholesale condemnations with scurrilous personal attacks are always counterproductive! The usual shortsightedness addduced doesn't negate the need for some visionary harum-scarum (still deplorable) as "..without vision, the people perish."
