I was having a bad morning
let me just state the obvious
HSR may or may not be a good idea for CA.
The case has never been made based on neutral cost and ridership studies
The original proposal was accepted by the folks who must pay the bills
The present state of affairs does not conform to what was written in the description of the proposition
The present state of the project does not conform to the idea of HSR,at least as commonly understood- to travel between major centers of ridership in a short time.
Or to put it another way 200 mph or pick a speed between Rosamond and Mojave, or between Tulare and Wasco does not count.
"family farms", 'boondoggle" or other characterizations do not contradict the facts.
And let me add to your quotes
