I admit to enjoying many Saturday and/or Sunday trips to Hyak
Genuine wooden skis with the earliest release bindings.
The lift to the top of the cleared face was counter-balanced steel barges with benches.
Several rope tows.
The current use of the hill and lodge will be offered by at least one of our readers.
The tunnel was inherited by Washington Parks. Walking on dirt, not ballast.
Overhead contact system hardware may still be seen. Also, ghosts of the telephone and telegraph lines.
I believe the whole line is a Washington Parks trail.
Milwaukee substations may be found. The most Westerly was in Renton. The Milwaukee gave Renton a very diagonal street, with track. Evidence of the depot?
There is another substation structure East of the Columbia River crossing. Being open grazing country, it is easy to follow the right-of-way. Even a freeway crossing ?
