1. There was a pilot car.
2. The driver has 21 years of experience with Mullen Trucking of Alberta.
3. The state of Washington issued a permit saying that the load would safely pass under the bridge. He was also inspected at Bow Hill.
4. The bridge had been hit many times before including a major hit last November, after which the Feds inspected the bridge and signed off on it as being safe.
5. The bridge clearance is just over 14 feet and should have been marked as such.
No matter how the state of Washington DOT tries to spin this, the responsibility is at their doorsteps.
