By " two - axle truck ", I assume you are referring to tandem - drive axles and excluding the front ( steer ) axle ??? In the Trucking Industry it is common to refer to all axles on a truck or tractor. In the PNW I have seen 3 - axle tractors with a longer spread between the drive axles. I believe these tractors are used on the dirt roads in Alaska and Yukon.
