Great in theory but I think there's no longer a track connection between Bayshore yard and mainline or tracks in and near round house Building is almost non existinent and fenced off due to damage from transients and a fire years ago.
Also Mission Bay wye no longer exists so train and engine can't be turned in SF I think Redwood City wye still exists
And if that's not enough.. Caltrain is about to start the electrification process that will take a couple of years.It requires reduced frequency of weekend trains from hourly to about 90 minutes or two hours. I don't think they'd let a steam engine operate on weekends if regular service is cut back.
