Most people (and please believe me that I'm not trying to sound elitist) are ignorant about what goes on around them. They see campaign commercials or "news" doled out in soundbites that they pick up on but really aren't arent all that interested in that "dumb stuff". They only complain when they wake up and se what their duely elected bureaucrats have done to them (and are now asking for your vote for re-election by telling you how much pork they have brought to your district but not telling you how much pork they also voted for in somebody elses'). When it was time to pay attention, they didn't want to be bothered because Dancing With the Stars was on.
