Move the 4449 to San Francisco (Bayshore Roundhouse??) and let it run on the CalTrain main to San Jose.

Regular opportunity to run at track speed. Local government agency owns the railroad rather than Union Pacific and would likely be rather supportive, while not requiring the high insurance premiums which would lower the cost of operating (and thus lower ticket prices). More money available. Plus...it's the 4449's home territory. Maybe UP could even be convinced to let the '49 run to Los Angeles, since they aren't running many of their own trains on the Coast Line.

Only drawback is more competition with other historical groups.
