I'm was really glad to hear that you've managed to be lucky enough to have not encountered a situation like this, resulting in a preventable accident, or the resulting deaths and injuries, using those 19th century operating practices.
It's just too bad that this crew wasn't as lucky as you were....
Oh well, I can only guess by your reply that what was good enough for your great grandpa, is good enough for your grandchildren.....
If you think that "flying blind" with a passenger train, at that speed is okay, in this day and age, and with this result, then I'm sure glad that you're not in charge, either......
