One thing I have found is that MOST, not all of the UP Police force consists of re-jects or screw ups from other police departments that lost their jobs or resigned right before they were due to get thrown off those police forces they were working because they over-stepped their authority and/or made some serious mistakes/errors/wrong decisions. It is very sad that these individuals have the attitude that because "they are the law", they can break any law they want because NO laws apply to them. So my feeling is they are in-human, meaning that they exempt themselves from being a human being that screws up and makes mistakes and errors. Then they have they attitude that, "I don't care what I do, I am superior to everyone else."
Little kids look up to Police Officers and when they see the Officer doing bad or wrong and then they don't appologise for it, then the little kid then becomes just like that. This is why the world is so messed up nowadays. Anytime a Police Officer does wrong, they should be made to appologise and take responsibility for their actions, such as the Dallas Police officer that did such on TV a few weeks ago. Then, I think you would see the police change for the better, even though you will still have a few rotten apples in the bag, but nearly close to as many as you have now.
Another problem is the Police Academys they attend. A close friend of mine didn't even finish the academy becuase he did not like the attitude they preach. He said they teach you that everyone out in the field is a liar and a criminal and you had better "put them in their place", because "You are the Law! Don't give them any benifit of the doubt!" He said that some of these "young kids that never grew up" attending the acadmeny let this go to their head when they become an officer. He said he could not "Stoop so low and become inhuman if that is what they expected him to be."
Yes, what upsets me is that they will more than mess with the railfan that is standing on Public Property at the edge of theirs taking pictures and observing operations, but will they go after the Real criminal armed that could hurt or kill them that is indeed on R.R. Property that is indeed causing harm or violating the law? Answer is, no, it is too dificult and not worth it. At least with the railfan, they can show their boss, "Hey look at me, I'm doing something, and this means you will give me that promotion with higher pay?" What is wrong with this picture?
In the end, when I have trouble, I don't even call the police for help, I can not trust them. I take matters into my own hand, I do not fear danger or death. The fews times I have called police, they show up long after the fact and they use every excuse to not handle the situation unless they think they will get a promotion out of the deal, become some hero with members of the oposite sex standing in a thousand mile line waiting to meet them, become a TV Celeberty, and get a pay raise.
One other thing I cannot stand is when I have called police about graffitti crimes, they respond with, "Oh, well, it is no big deal, let them do it, we have more important things to worry about such as murders and killings." I have even sugessted to police to hang around public road x-ings when a train is due, they could write tons of tickets to crossing violaters and it is so easy! The answer still is, "No, we have more important things to do than show up at a crossing when a train is due." Again, what is wrong with this picture? Police Prioritys 90% of the time are all wrong.
Don't ever forget, Police officers are not your friend, that are not out there to help you out or do you any favors under any circumstances. If they see you are an easy target though, they will screw you to bankruptcy!
