Time to end this?

This has devolved into one of the more interesting threads in some time. Having said that, let's review -
It seems as if some folks think that railroad police officers are doing their job either too well, or not well enough, and shouldn't be trusted. Also, many of these same railroad police officers fail to meet our age, fitness, and/or sartorial standards.
What seems to peeve some in particular is these very same railroad cops won't allow us unfettered access to railroad property (i.e. trespassing) and to put ourselves into potentially harmful situations. Some feel that being a knucklehead is a divine right.
As often as not, we (yep, me too...) are politely advised that we're we shouldn't be there and to please move on. I had one R.R.P.O. wait until after I had gotten my pics to speak with me. Once done with the formalities, he changed the topic to the adverse lighting conditions, and hoped that I had gotten good results, and to be careful.
No doubt, others may have had different, less pleasant experiences. Yet for the most part, they put themselves in these situations. At the end of the day, the railroad cops are human. They have a job to do. They are often hopelessly understaffed, and are expected to be in five places at once. Give them a break. Try treating them with respect, it works both ways

Dave is quite correct, let's end the personal bashing. It's ugly, and drags everybody down.
