Another factor (not necessarily an excuse) for the behavior of some RR cops, is boredom. Several years ago I spoke with an SP Special Agent who was previously employed by Vallejo PD.
He said in the two years he had been with SP he had made two arrests. "Hell, I could have done that on a Thursday night in Vallejo" he said. He was in his 30's and in good physical shape. A lot of the younger RR cops use this position as a "stepping stone" to a municipal PD. For a time, SP was paying for their new recruits to attend the LA Police academy. Then after a year or so, they lateralled out. I don't know Drew, but I appreciate the photography he has displayed here, and would like to see it continue personal conflicts aside.
